STICHTING ART ZUID – 8TH EDITION AMSTERDAM SCULPTURE BIENNALE ARTZUID
Stichting Art Zuid organizes the Amsterdam Sculpture Biennale ARTZUID every two years within the urban heritage Plan Zuid by architect H.P. Berlage. The eighth edition took place in 2023. With the sculpture exhibition in public spaces, the foundation makes art freely accessible to everyone and promotes creativity. For the participating artists it is a platform on which they can boost their careers. ARTZUID is a meeting place for young and old, connects neighbourhoods and contributes to the quality of life in the city. Thanks to a donation from Fonds 1999, 4200 students from primary, secondary, and special education and colleges from Amsterdam visited the sculpture exhibition during these four months. Through assignments with each sculpture, they learned to look at the works of art and to delve deeper into the work and working methods of the artist.
